Dhankuta During 1960s

Dhankuta is the headquarter of the Koshi zone in province 1 located in Eastern Nepal. Dhankuta a small mid-hill Newari town is famous for its orange groves and leafy scenery with the mountain streams, their crystal clear waters, and the green pine and oak forests. With a population of 26,440 (according to the 2011 Nepal census), Dhankuta lies t an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. It is also the base for trekking in the Kanchanjunga region. 
Reminiscing the beautiful past of Dhankuta following are some pictures of Dhankuta dated from 1969-1971 which was captured by Bob Nicholas during his visit to Nepal.
